The Alliance was established in December 2022 and brings together legal and economic experts who specialise and have practical experience in the field of competition development and antitrust regulation. The Alliance already includes experts from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Russia, and Kyrgyzstan, and discussions are underway with experts from Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Uzbekistan regarding their membership in the Alliance.
The main objectives of the Alliance are:
- to promote the development of effective departmental and judicial practices for the application of antitrust/competition legislation;
- to promote constructive dialogue between business, the Eurasian Economic Commission and the antitrust authorities of the countries of the Eurasian continent on issues of development, competition protection and antitrust regulation;
- to participate in rule-making activities on issues of development and protection of competition and antitrust regulation in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and countries of the Eurasian continent;
- promoting the introduction of best international practices in the field of development, competition protection and antitrust regulation into the legislation and practice of application in the countries of the Eurasian continent.
