A public council is an advisory, consultative and supervisory body established by state authorities.
The powers of public councils include:
1. Participation in the development and discussion of draft regulatory legal acts concerning the rights, freedoms and obligations of citizens.
2. Consideration of appeals from individuals and legal entities on socially significant issues in the relevant sphere of activity of a state body or region, including issues related to improving public administration and organising the transparent work of the state apparatus.
3. Developing and submitting proposals to state bodies on improving the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
