On 18-19 May, Almaty hosted a high-level event – the II Economic Forum European Union – Central Asia. The Forum was attended by Alikhan Smailov, Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Valdis Dombrovskis, Executive Vice-President of the European Commission, ministers and deputy ministers from European and Central Asian countries.

The main goal of the Forum was to promote cooperation between the EU and Central Asia in three key priority areas: green and digital transition, improving the business environment, and trade and connectivity opportunities.

The Digital Kazakhstan Association was invited to participate in the Forum sessions.

Denis Stepanets, Chairman of the DKA Council, participated as a speaker in the session "Let's Get Down to Business: Private Sector-Led Solutions for B2B Connections," organised by the International Trade Centre, the technical cooperation agency of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development and the World Trade Organisation, which deals with the operational and entrepreneur-oriented aspects of trade development.

Elena Bychkova, Managing Director of the Digital Kazakhstan Association, moderated the session on Digital Transformation, which featured speakers including the Deputy Director-General of the European Commission's Directorate-General for International Partnerships; the Deputy State Secretary for Global Affairs of Estonia; and the Deputy Ministers of Digital Ministries of Central Asian countries.

The Digital Kazakhstan Association is the only association in Kazakhstan in the field of e-commerce accredited by all major state regulators and the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs.
