Elena Bychkova, as part of the Kazakh delegation, took part in the conference ‘Harnessing the potential of e-commerce in Central Asia,’ held on 7-9 March in Dubai, UAE.

The event was held as part of the Ready4Trade Central Asia project implemented by the International Trade Centre. The conference was also attended by the European Union Ambassador to the UAE, the UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade, the Deputy Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as the leadership of central state regulators in the field of trade in Central Asian countries.

Elena Bychkova spoke about the state of e-commerce development in Kazakhstan and offered some recommendations on the formation of legal regulation in the field of e-commerce.

At the conference, participants discussed potential areas of public-private cooperation, as well as key national policy directions and rules that need to be taken into account to further strengthen trade cooperation in Central Asia and the widespread introduction of e-commerce at the regional level.

During the two-day familiarisation tour, participants visited local fulfilment centres and learned about the best e-commerce practices of international players and the United Arab Emirates.
