AliExpress Russia joined the Digital Kazakhstan Association as a member.
AliExpress Russia is a joint venture between Alibaba Group (NYSE: BABA), VK (MAIL), USM International and the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) in the field of social e-commerce in Russia and the CIS. The company was founded on 9 October 2019.
At the beginning of the second quarter of 2022, the company plans to open deliveries from Russia to Kazakhstan, and by the end of the year to launch a reverse route — to provide Kazakh companies with the opportunity to sell their goods in Russia through AliExpress. Kazakhstanis already have access to goods from around 300,000 foreign sellers on the company's platform, with an assortment of more than 190 million unique items.
The company has extensive experience in the development of e-commerce and trade, as well as experience in cooperating with government agencies in many jurisdictions in developing approaches to e-commerce regulation.
AliExpress is the largest online platform in Russia and the CIS for selling consumer goods from China and other countries, with a daily audience of 12.5 million users and a monthly audience of over 35 million. The total number of sellers on AliExpress Russia exceeds 400,000.
AliExpress Russia's total turnover for 2021 amounted to 306 billion roubles, excluding services.
