The Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia has published an article entitled ‘Digital platforms as objects of regulation: problems of improving antimonopoly legislation in EAEU member states.’
One of the authors of the publication is Elena Bychkova, Advisor to the Chairman of the ACC, Advisor to the President of JSC ‘Centre for the Development and Protection of Competition Policy’. According to the ACC, approaches to regulating digital platforms in Kazakhstan should be developed taking into account the challenges of the local market.
It should be recalled that the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan ‘On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts on Competition Development’ adopted in early 2022 did not include provisions on the regulation of digital markets, as the draft version did not meet the set objectives.
