Elena Bychkova, Advisor to the Chairman of the Digital Kazakhstan Association, participated in a discussion on the formation of a digital trade ecosystem: removing barriers and reducing transaction costs in exports. The event was held in Tashkent and was organised by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan in conjunction with the USAID Competitiveness, Trade, and Jobs in Central Asia project.
The discussion covered issues of legal regulation of relations in the field of e-commerce, the accessibility of online trading platforms for consumers and entrepreneurs, issues of integration and harmonisation of local platforms with existing global trading platforms, competition in foreign markets, export potential and competitiveness of the local market, as well as optimisation of entrepreneurs' costs when exporting.
Elena shared information about the achievements and prospects of e-commerce in Kazakhstan, as well as the basics and principles of interaction between regulators and business associations aimed at achieving the main goal – creating a competitive e-commerce market in Kazakhstan.
