The Digital Kazakhstan Association has become an official partner of the Eurasian Antimonopoly Forum 2021
The Digital Kazakhstan Association became an official partner of the Eurasian Antimonopoly Forum 2021, which took place in Almaty on 7–8 October 2021. The main organisers of the Forum were the Agency for the Protection and Development of Competition of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Centre for the Development and Protection of Competition Policy JSC.
Advisor to the Chairman, Elena Bychkova, who heads the antimonopoly unit of the DKA, moderated the Forum session on unfair competition.
Representatives of the Agency, Denis Stepanets, Managing Director, and Elena Bychkova, joined the working group under the Mazhilis of the Parliament on the draft Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan ‘On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Competition Development.’ The draft law proposes to introduce a set of provisions granting the Agency for the Protection and Development of Competition of the Republic of Kazakhstan the authority to assess the state of competition in digital markets. Representing the position of Kazakh digital companies, the DKA advocates for the exclusion of these provisions from the draft law due to their incompleteness and untimeliness.
